FRONT ENTRANCE & ELEVATED POOL AREA

26/5/2019

A challenging, unused lawn area at the front of house was transformed into a functional family pool area.
Decking was utilised to accommodate the change in levels across the area, creating two spaces - one being the main pool area and the other an extension to the clients existing outdoor living area.
The pool cover is concealed below the deck, allowing for comfortable maneuvering space around the pool.
To complement the decked pool surrounds & create a connection between spaces, staggered deck platforms were designed for the entrance to the house. Plants were chosen to reflect the low light levels alongside this walkway.

Organic meets structure. Naturalistic pool colour, reflective in some lights. The upper level of the house takes in a birds eye view of the pool shape. Curved, out-of-ground pool wall negates the need for pool fencing here, while also accommodating the change in level between spaces. Native planting scheme.

Neutral, relaxing colour palette. Feature timber inset leads you from the top of the sandstone tiled steps into the pool area. Built in spa. Timber platform at end of pool conceals the pool cover system. Concrete wall screens the pool plant shed behind and provides privacy from the reserve beyond. Layout and position of pool area within the back garden allows for ample lawn space to be retained.

Focus on function, clean lines. Subtle definition created between a flexible outdoor entertaining space (lower deck) and driveway, by way of trees in planters. Comfortable access to back door via wide steps. Easy transitions between spaces. Family focused, visually pleasing.
